*Sensitive skin: This designation means these deodorants have relatively few ingredients, are fragrance free, and have few or no essential oils or other plant extracts (except for nut/seed oils like shea, which are less likely to cause reactions than other plant extracts). Everyone is different, and these deodorants may cause reactions in some people, too. When trying a new deodorant, try it on a small patch of one underarm first, to make sure you don't react to it.
Why So Few Cruelty-Free Anti-Perspirants?
For anti-perspirants, the only cruelty-free choice is Tom's of Maine. It's because anti-perspirants are regulated as over-the-counter drugs in the US, so the US FDA requires more testing, including potentially animal testing. Tom's of Maine has been able to get FDA approval without animal testing.
